super secret show

the black keys did a "secret myspace show" at the beachland ballroom. it was confusing to everyone. we got there before the 2pm time to wait in line, and almost all the wrist bands were accounted for. we were 114 & 115 out of 120! we had to wait around the ballroom for about 2 hours, then wait in line for the wrist bands. when we finally got out (around 3pm) there was a huge line of pissed off fans. not fun. we got burgers at "the time out", went home for a while, then back at 8pm for the show. too many hipsters, but the band sounded amazing. i was able to snap some photos, including a tribute to erin o'brien and one great shot of the band from behind the stage. it was fun but i'm an old lady and had to drag my tired ass to work this morning.
the craziest thing happened, before the show at 8pm. some kids were trying to talk their way in, and one got upset and peed on the door of the club. like, took his junk out and pissed on the door!!! kids these days......

for the record, i'm the one who wanted to go to this 'secret show' and also wanted to leave. thanks for putting up with all that waiting around, driving, etc. next time we'll wait for the video release and watch it in the comfort of our own home. :)

groundkitten- hush! i had so much fun. it was an adventure and i got some good pics. plus i got to spend the day with my super crabby boyfriend!

and you got to say hit to the drummer dude, who i almost ran over with my rental car. all in all a good time.

sds- i was just looking at photos from that rainy game! i remember how excited you were to be there, and i was happy to wait it out with you in the rain. and i believe we got to go back the next day for the makeup game and it was beautiful & sunny and i ate some yummy peanuts and you yelled at the pitcher and said funny stuff.

good times...

I figured the ticket getting aspect of that show would be a pain in the ass. Especially since it was in the Tavern. Still had to be cool to see them in such a small venue.

mojito- yeah, it was really neat seeing them in such a small venue. when they started playing, i said to myself, "now that's how a GD rock band should sound!"

i'm always amazed at how much of a big sound comes from just 2 guys on stage.

p.s. are my sea monkeys dead???? if so, i blame you, mojito!

They seem to have disappeared. I do believe someone that was left in charge of the monkeys was moved to another project on the other side of the building....the monkeys vanished when that happened.

I had nothing to do with it. Honest to blog. God...what a stupid stupid line. That line nearly derailed the entire freakin' film (ed. note: Juno) for me. Blecch.

So anyway...oh, look, shiny......
