sad news again....

maubee was a teddy bear......
maubee was rachel and wayne's dog. she's passed away and we're all so sad, but she had a great life. she was spoiled and had fun, and so many people loved her.

these are pics of maubee with tigger, best friends! i love how they posed together. when i house sat for rachel and wayne, these 2 drove me crazy! tigger bit my toe and they both fussed and fought a lot, but we had a good time.

in the last few years, we've said goodbye to so many pets. "pets" isn't the right word, these are our animal friends, and they are family. we've lost miles, maggie, abigale, morris, jack, shadow, dixie, fred, and others..... just remember how much joy they brought us. and let's hope we did the same for them, for however long we had them in our lives.

Thank you so much Jennifer for posting about Maubee. We were lucky to have her in our lives for over 15 years. She was the best! We lost Tigger about a year and a half ago and Wayne and I were just talking about how Tigger and Maubee used to play together. Specifically a time after we first got Barney... Maubee and Tigger were playing pretty rough, we think Barney thought Maubee was hurting Tigger so he "stage dived" off the couch into the middle of them to break it up. It was so funny! It's bittersweet to see these pictures of them. We miss her so much and there's a big void in the house now but it's easy to smile through the tears thinking that maubee, tigger, miles, maggie, abigale, morris, jack, shadow, dixie, fred and banner (my sisters dog that we lost a few months ago)and all of the others that we've lost are all playing together now..... young again and free of any pain. They brought so much happiness to our lives. Maubee will always be our Teddy Bear.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…

god damn that rainbow bridge poem!!!!

i don't believe in god or heaven, and i think this poem is cheesy as hell.

yet anytime i read it, i feel joy and sadness, a bittersweet kind of feeling, and i cry.... and i want it to be true.

son of a bitch!!!!
