dog training thoughts...

everyone likes to quote caesar milan (the dog whisperer.)  i've never been a big fan of his.  i don't like the aggressive methods, shoving the dog down to show "dominance", or pinch collars.  i think there are ways to keep dog training 100% positive.  no yelling or pushing.  no pinching the neck with prongs.
i found this website created to :"bring together people who oppose cruel, violent or bullying methods of training or rehabilitating dogs; also those who question or challenge pack leadership, dominance theory, dog-as-wolf and other outdated ideas."

i really like the idea that a dog can be trained in a positive way.  we've done a little training with the clicker and it works great indoors, teaching gilly to sit or come when called.  i found a new harness to help her to stop pulling on the leash on walks.
i also like the "nothing in life is free" program.  we've had gilly do a "sit" or "down" command just when we feed her or let her out.

in the end, we just have to try new things and do the work.  i want a well behaved dog that has fun!

DAN IS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PROPERLY TRAIN DOGS. YOU SHOULD DONATE ALL YOUR MONEY TO HIM RIGHT NOW!

I like Cesar Milan and he doesnt use pinch collars...he uses a firm tone but does not yell either...my opinion...

and if you will notice he puts the dog down on its side to show dominance but he is only doing this on agressive dogs...He doesnt use that method on puppys...the dogs on his show are the agressive dogs that need to be nutralized...Just saying...
