2 posts in one day (it's been a while since that happened...)

crap, i had all kinds of things i wanted to write about on this 2nd post o' the day, but am suddenly drawing a blank....

i do have a major dental appointment tonight, and no fun & games like zoom whitening. this is novocaine injections, drilling, removing old fillings, more drilling and adding new white fillings. painful and expensive! (i have dental insurance, but high copays and deductibles.) so, needless to say, this is gonna suck for a number of reasons. of course they give me the laughing gas, which helps. but afterwards i feel like a girl one of those lifetime movies where someone slips her something in her drink, and she wakes up knowing something really bad happened, but can't remember it all.

time to head back to dental fear central online!

dan fogelberg died this week. i hadn't thought anything about the news til i read a story that mentioned his song "same old lang syne". it was my favorite song as a kid, around age 10-11. i can remember it coming on the radio while laurie palmer's mom drove us to gymnastics practice. there would be 4 or 5 of us girls crammed in that back seat, jabbering away. but when that song came on, we would shut up and listen intently. eventually we learned the words and would sing along, trying to imagine the scene, how she married "an architect who kept her warm and safe and dry..." and we knew that meant, and hoped she'd run off with the guy in the song. it was just such a sad and pretty song, and i can hear it now in my head, and it's sappy & sentimental and i still love it.

oh, good news! my sister tells me she got me a little pink xmas tree! i've been wanting one, and have a large one on my amazon wish list. she said she found me a little pink "charlie brown" type xmas tree, and i'm so excited. i told dan about the pink tree and he seems excited too!!!

it's odd, i remember hearing about the grand tradition of dotditwell day, but not this dumping of pink trees ceremony..... it's ok, i bet dan hasn't heard about the day where i throw his guitars in the well if he touches my super cool pink xmas tree. happy TDWITHGITWIHTMSCPXT!!!!!
