i wrote about work lingo a while back, and have found a wikipedia entry for it as well. consultantese is the name for the BS talk and sadly i have heard most of these phrases. today we had a powerpoint presentation with chevrons!

and now i have to take a test called "respect in the workplace", all about what is appropriate. i flunked it last year and had to take it twice. he he he....

the test will answer these burning questions:

• Are employees allowed to display in the workplace materials demonstrating their religious beliefs? (does my cartman doll count?)


• Do harassment rules apply at firm-sponsored parties or off-site events? (can i sue for forced kareoke? last office party they tried to sign me up to sing "barbie girl" and i narrowly escaped.)


• When is a hug or a shoulder rub appropriate in the workplace? (NEVER!!!!)

per this article, i am the best girlfriend ever! apparently overweight, sailor-mouthed girls are all the rage. hell f*ckin' yeah!

in other news, i attended a day long seminar for work on how to build positive work relationships. it was facilitated by a corporate gal in a smart pantsuit who used terms like "bio break"(see my post on consultantese below.) it just about killed me to sit through 8 hours of flip charts and crappy coffee.
