post from my serious blog, now out of business
posted on 1/20/08
i am oddly calm. i say "oddly" because in less then 24 hours, a tv reporter and camera person will be pulling into my driveway. i have been able to talk myself down from any major anxiety. the house isn't perfectly clean, my nails aren't painted and i haven't obsessed about everything i want to say, or how it could all go so very wrong.
i know why i am doing this. it's a good thing. if people don't get it, or judge me, big deal. i want to be the one person who fucked up weight loss surgery who actually talks about it, so other folks can avoid the mistakes.
plus, it will all be just fine, because groundcat will be there. and my family and friends are really supportive about me taking this risk. so, it's all good.
i'll come back and blog about the anxiety and panic i am sure to be feeling when it gets closer to the interview.
comments from post:
david- So, what time is the filming?! Is it over yet? How did it go? Did you have a breakdown on camera?!
monica robins- Hi David, This is the reporter. Jen had a total breakdown on camera and we have it all on tape! Just kidding. She was awesome. She got her message across perfectly and I hope she'll help a lot of people who've had or are considering the surgery. Have a nice day :)
Monica
copax- seriously, I hope they talk about your blogging during the interview
whitey- I can't wait to see it on air. Now that it's all over, what are you going to build up to next? How about running with the bulls?
Spanish Inquisition anyone...
uc freak- If this is a serious blog, shouldn't you have serious pictures? Maybe children starving, or genocide? Something heart wrenching, and not quite so...trippy.
glittermom- uc freak has a point...If you want to post nutty pictures you need to go to your goofy blog...You wanted a serious blog and this is not serious...I say forget it and go back to ONE blog like any normal red blooded fool...
