random thoughts, blog announcements, stolen pics.....

i had a great weekend. the weather was perfect (nice and chilly.) me and groundcat put up the tent, built a bonfire, and camped out behind the barn. well, groundcat put up the tent and built the fire. i brought out all the necessary supplies (bug spray, lighters and citronella candles, candy cigarettes, sparklers, tom waits CDs, glow in the dark alarm clock. you know, the essentials.) we had the dogs out with us for a while, then sent them packing back into the house. it was so much fun sleeping out under the stars (and without dogs waking us up at 2am.) i will have pics up from our little camp out later today.


in the blog world, copaX finally updated his blog. zak's has been interesting. groundcat has a cool family portrait and a clip of brian regan, probably one of the best stand-up comedians out there. lisa ann writes about her summer of doing construction work (she's a bad mother....shut your mouth!) and b-hax has had some lovely and interesting posts. but my mom's blog wins. she's got pics of forest gump (the creepy, slow-witted neighbor who used to watch us swim out back.) mom wins for the best blog post ever.


and for the pic to accompany my post today, i will use one stacy sent me. it's a pic of her daughter. she's got a fairy costume and a guitar, and she is my hero! (plus, zak loves it when i steal pics from friends to use on my blog...)

finally, thanks for the comments on the self portrait i posted (see post below.) i am serious about my proposal that this be "the summer of weird". everyone join me in exploring the weird and funny things in life. don't be afraid to let your freak flag fly! post some weird photos of yourself! i am bossy AND weird!!!!!!!!!!!
