something really good in the news


when i lived in columbus, i worked with homeless folks and some of that time was spent at a battered women's shelter. i heard so many stories about women staying with abusers only because they were afraid to leave their dogs and cats behind. a sad fact is that most abusers also target the pets. so this new law in maine will help. maybe other states will start adopting the same law!
